Sir,

Mr Robt Adam sends 40 Barls of Flour in my Vessel to you, the freight of which, he says I am to look to you for, ifso, please to pay it to the skipper. I am unacquainted with the customary allowance pr Barl and therefore depend upon you for the usual freight. I am Sir Yr Most Obed. Servt

Neil Jamieson, a Scottish merchant whose store was in Norfolk, was a partner in the Glasgow firm of John Glassford & Company. He was engaged not only in the tobacco trade for his company but also in shipping provisions and lumber to the West Indies.
