Washington May 22nd: 1806.


I have the Honor to transmit to you inclosed a Passport for the American Ship Stapleton, Francis Blackwell Master, bound from Baltimore to Gibraltar and Malta or Syracuse, with Provisions and Stores, the Property of the United States, and intended for the Supply of their Squadron in the Mediterranean, which you have requested to have by your Letter, of this Day’s Date, which I have just had the Honor to receive. I have the Honor to be, with great Respect and Consideration, Sir, Your most obedient humble Servant
