Department of State, April 26th. 1806.


The Secretary of the Treasury having transferred to this Department your letter of the 23rd. inst. with its enclosures, it has become necessary to inform you that if your claims upon the French Government have been duly presented to the proper officer and payment has been declined; you may transmit them with the vouchers to Fulwar Skipwith Esqr. Commercial Agent of the UStates at Paris, that they may be laid before the French Government. Your papers are returned. I am &c.
