The appended list recommended five officers from Ohio, including Duncan McArthur and Lewis Cass to be colonels and William Colgreve to be a major; four New York officers, including Jacob Brown to be a colonel; eight officers from Vermont, including Elias Hasset and Daniel Dana to be colonels; and eight officers from Massachusetts, including Isaac Lane and Joseph D.
