RC and enclosure (DNA: RG 59, LAR, 1809–17, filed under “Bland”). RC 1 p. Enclosure (2 pp.) is a 13 Nov. 1810 letter signed by thirty-nine General Assembly delegates recommending Theodorick Bland for U.S. attorney in the event of the resignation of the incumbent, John Stephen.
1. Edward Lloyd (1779–1834) had served as a Republican representative in the Ninth and Tenth Congresses (1806–9). From 1809 to 1811 he was governor of Maryland.
