Thomas Jefferson Papers

From Thomas Jefferson to Joel Yancey, 18 August 1821

Monticello Aug. 18. 21.

Dear Sir

On the very day the waggon left us, my daughtor, who was to accompany me to Bedford was taken sick. she is better and thinks that by tomorrow or next day she will be strong enough for the road. I do not think so; but still count from day to day on departing either with her or without her as her convalescence may admit. ever & affectionately yours
