Dr Sir

I have become an applicant for Employment at the Central College and am told It is necessary to furnish satisfactory testimony of my Qualifications as a Man & Workman.

If you have it in your Power to be serviceable to me in that respect I shall at all times be ready to acknowledge the favor.—a line adressed to any of the visitors which Mr Smith has been good enough to say he will deliver on his return through Charlottesville with answer.

I believe you was satisfied with the work I did for you and to such as have tried me, I shall only Apply—
