I have the honor to propose to your consideration, Jared Mansfield of Connecticut, as a Captain in the Corps of Engineers.

Jared MANSFIELD was the author of the Essays, Mathematical and Physicalmentioned in Abraham Baldwin’s letter to TJ of 29 Mch. and Bishop James Madison’s of 15 Apr. At the time, Mansfield was teaching at a school in New Haven, Connecticut.
