Headquarters near Fredericksburg [New York] October 28, 1778. Certificate of color of cloth drawn for uniforms for the various regiments by Hamilton and seven other aides to Washington. Lottery held to prevent soldiers of various regiments from complaining about color or quality of uniforms.
