Dear Son and Daughter
I have only time to write a few Lines. I am well, and your Son was well about 10 Days ago.5 He is not in the Town of Geneva, where the Government is at present in Disorder; but is at the Master’s Country-House, a few Miles distant where he goes on with his Studies. Let me know in your next what his Age is, which I have forgotten.—6 I send enclos’d some of his Letters;7 & am ever Your affectionate Father

5. The most recent extant letters to BF concerning BFB are Catherine Cramer’s of April 9 and 12, both above.
6. BFB would turn 13 on Aug. 12: I, lxiii.
7. We have located three BFB letters from this period. He wrote to his parents on Jan. 1, 1782, expressing enthusiasm for the Yorktown victory, hope that his brother William would join him in Geneva, and pleasure at renewing his acquaintance with Robert Montgomery (APS). BFB sent a similar letter to WTF around the same time (XXXVI, 476–7n) and wrote to BF on Feb. 21 (XXXVI, 597–8).
