5th: Jany 1801.

Dear William

I now enclose you the Substitute power of Attorney to receive at the Office of the Secretary of the Treasury, all the interest due upon the Stock standing in the name of J Q Adams and my own name; but having forgotten till now that any of the Stock belonging to my Brother was in my name, you need not apply for that until I send you my power, which shall be done tomorrow.

The long expected prospectus is out at last.—The first Number also will be delivered this evening—The President will receive one, as I shall be answerable for the price of Subscription—
