From John Quincy Adams to Thomas Boylston Adams, 3 July 1799

13. July l799.

I wrote you last week, and now repeat for your information in case that letter should fail in the conveyance, that I have concluded to keep my obligations in Holland, and not to dispose of them, as I had proposed to you in my letter of 29. April—But that you may on the 1st: of January next, draw upon the Secretary of State 2000 Dollars, on my account, and send me an order upon Messrs: Willink, making over to me your 5 obligations. If this arrangement should suit you, let me know, as soon as possible.

Next week we go to Dresden and Töplitz where we propose to pass the remainder of the summer—The new treaty with Prussia was signed on the 11th:
