Cork, 12th. Febuary 1788—

His Excellency Jno. Adams Esqr. at London

I Beg leave to offer the Necessity of my Vessel as an Apology for the Liberty I take in Addressing you.—We left America—that is Portsmouth New Hampshire 5th: last Month for here, & to the Cape Leverd Islands, near the Emperor of Morocco’s Dominions—and we Unfortunately came away leaving Coppy of their Signals &c—If your Excellency would be pleased to Furnish me with them, should Confer an Obligation on one of the Citizens of New–Hampshire, & on Your Excellency’s / Most humble Servant
