Mr. B. Vaughan presents his respectful compts. to Mr Adams, & having been applied for an acct. of Mr Payne’s bridge, wishes to be favored with one that may be made public, if there should be no objection; as Mr. V. understands it is for this use it is designed.—No mention is to be made of any quarter from which it comes, nor does Mr. V. wish it to go further that himself makes this application to Mr. Adams.
Mr. V:’s family has been full of sickness & is now removed out of town to be free from further danger of infection, which has prevented his paying his respects to Mr Adams & the family in Grosvenor, as well as Mrs. V.
The bearer has orders to inqire after the health of every one, but particularly of Col. Smith.
