By Request of Capt John Lillie I have now written your Excellencey, his being an entire stranger to you was the Occasion of this Request; He was an Officer of the American Army during the late War, and Aid DCamp to Genl Knox and behaved with Reputation and Honor.

If you can assist him in the Recovery of his Property, or point out to him, the Mode he ought to persue you will do an Act of kindness to a very deserving man.
