The inclosed Letter I have recieved from Dr. Jeffries & have concluded to transmit it to your Excellency, with this only request that it may be communicated to those whom it concerns. I know not indeed that there is any propriety in my meddling in the Business—& I wish it may not be thought still more out of Character to trouble you with it—
But Dr. Jeffries abstracted from his former Character, is a benevolent & Worthy Man & without knowing or pretending to form any Judgement of the merits of his Claim, I wish In general that Justice may be done him—
