I have rece’d your Letter of the 30th. of Decr. & am sorry to hear of your Embarrassment, but it is not in my Power, to be of any service to you. all accusations of transgressions of the Laws of trade or Excise, must in this Country you know be tried in the ordinary course of law, & no public minister can in any way interfere—The Merchants of Hull will advise, what applications you may make by petition or other representation to the Commissioners
