I have this moment recieved a letter from messrs. Williamson & Cowling of Savanna informing me that they had sent to your address two tierces of cotton seed for me by the schooner Mary Capt. Almeda which left Savanna for Baltimore on the 24th. of January. as she may be arrived, or daily expected, & this seed is procured for the Agricultural society of Paris, I am very anxious it should get to New York before the departure of the public vessel about to sail from that port for France. I will therefore pray you to ship it to New York to the care of mr Gelston, collector, by the very first vessel sailing after it’s arrival, from your port to that place. your note of the freight & charges from Savanna shall be remitted as soon as recieved, to which I will thank you if you will add freight & charges to New York which I will be obliged to you to pay, that a single remittance to you may cover the whole. when you shall have forwarded the packages to New York I shall be glad to be informed of it.
