General Orders

Head Quarters, Morristown, July 26th 1777.1

Parole: Countersign:

The tents are to be struck to morrow morning as soon as they are sufficiently dry; and the army is to march immediately afterwards.

1. GW’s military expense account contains an entry for this date for £2.5 for cash paid “at Mandevils for house room &c.” (DLC:GW, ser. 5, vol. 28).
